It’s not easy to keep the kids entertained over the summer holidays, but with the help of Pescod Square, Boston’s families were able to access plenty of activities and shows while school was out.
Free Events for Families
Throughout August, Pescod Square hosted a series of fun and free events for all ages. From creative crafting to sporty shenanigans, there was something to ensure everyone had a summer full of smiles!
The schedule of activity included:
Toadstool Candle Holder Workshop: 9th August
Using a variety of high-quality paints, children over the age of 3 could design and decorate their own toadstool candle holder. A beautiful, bespoke addition to any garden or home. All materials were provided, and help was on hand from trained supervisors.
Climbing Wall: 16th August
On Friday 16th August, families tested their dexterity with our mobile boulder climbing wall. Mobile boulder climbing walls are an ideal introduction to climbing, or a great tool to improve existing techniques. The wall gave participants the freedom to set their own challenges and explore their own abilities – giving them the confidence to reach new heights!
Endeavour FM Takeover: 24th August
Endeavour FM brought music to everyone’s ears on 23rd August! Pescod Square teamed up with the radio station to give visitors the chance to enjoy summer sounds and an array of fun and games, suitable for the whole family. There were also plenty of prizes to be won on the day, donated from the shopping centre’s retailers.
Children’s Archery: 30th August
Ready, aim, fire! Using suction cup arrows and bows, mini Robin Hoods and Maid Marians had the opportunity to learn the exciting skill of archery and feel the satisfaction of going for gold.
A Huge Success
All of Pescod Square’s summer events drew in crowds, increasing footfall throughout the period. The shopping centre’s social media pages saw follower numbers surge and high levels of engagement. There was also plenty of positive feedback on the Square’s social media pages.
Much fun was had by my son. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Thank you!Helen Smalley
