On Friday 31st May, there was plenty of foodie fun to be had at Pescod Square. The shopping centre hosted a half term craft workshop, tailormade for little ones of 3 years and over.

The craft workshop was hosted by Crafty Crew and gave children the opportunity to try their hand at creative techniques, using specialist and high-quality paints and accessories.

National BBQ Week

From 27th May to 2nd June, the nation celebrated National BBQ Week and in conjunction with this tasty occasion, children were invited along to a marquee in the shopping centre’s main mall to design and decorate fabric aprons to take home and keep.

132 children headed to the dedicated crafting station on the day to create their aprons. All materials were provided, and help was on hand from experienced supervisors.

Attendees gave great feedback following on from their crafting exploits. One parent said: “My daughter really enjoyed making her apron” and another parent added: “the team were friendly, helpful and fun.”

Competition

Following on from the event, parents were invited to submit photos of their children’s aprons to Pescod Square’s social media pages for the chance to win a BBQ worth £50 from Wilko.

From the photos received, two finalists were selected; Ashton and Narla (submitted by their mum Michelle Holland) and Scarlett (submitted by her mum Ru Thurlby). Voting is currently underway on Pescod Square’s Facebook page, where followers are voting for their favourite apron via a dedicated poll. The picture with the most votes will win the prize. Over 500 votes have already been received and the competition closes on Monday 10th June.
