From gorgeous gift ideas to got-to-have gadgets and divine décor to show-stopping styles, Pescod Square was Boston’s one-stop-shop for Christmas goodies this year.

And with enchanting events, plenty of in-store promotions and cracking Christmas giveaways, it really was the place to be for some extra sparkle over the festive season.

On Thursday 24th November, Pescod Square hosted its Christmas Lights Switch On event. There was a full schedule of performances and activities in front of Pescod Hall, including the ever popular Oldrid’s Giant Snow Globe, which raised monies for local charities.

The on-stage show, hosted by Endeavour Radio, included prize giveaways, songs from local choirs, dance performances from Alan’s School of Dance, a mini panto from the cast of Robin Hood and Babes in the Wood and some very special guests from much-loved children’s tale Frozen, turned on Pescod Square’s lights in a fantastic finale!

Throughout the Christmas period, Pescod Square also hosted a Santa’s Grotto, where children could meet the jolly fellow with the big belly and provide him with their Christmas wish list. The grotto, managed by the Boston Lions, asked for donations for entry which all went to local good causes.

Along with the Grotto, a cracking craft market was in the malls on Sunday 18th December with a selection of festive fancies, handmade homeware and decadent decorations. It proved to be the perfect place to get unique presents for friends and family.

All festive activities proved to be a huge success, with footfall up significantly from the same time last year.

Andy Pottle, Pescod Square’s Centre Manager, says: “It was fantastic to host so much festive fun at the shopping centre on the lead up to Christmas and local residents certainly seemed to enjoy all the sparkling entertainment on offer!”
