To help Boston’s residents celebrate spooky season, there are plenty of ghoulish goodies and freaky fashions in Pescod Square Shopping Centre’s stores.

What’s more, with creepy crafting and a blood-curdling birthday party, half term week proved to be one hell of a horror show at the Square! Read more in our latest blog.

Creepy Crafting

During half term week, Pescod Square Shopping Centre hosted an array of freaky frolics and ghostly goings on to celebrate Halloween.

On Wednesday 23rd October from 10am to 3pm there was a free-to-attend Trick or Treat Craft Workshop where little devils could design and decorate their own ghoulish goody bag to take home and keep. All materials were provided, and guidance was on hand from trained supervisors.

Over one hundred and fifty children took part in the crafting activity, with creativity in abundance! Designs featuring witches, wizards, pumpkins, cats and Dracula all proved particularly popular. Following the event, parents and carers took to social media to complement the activity:

Sophie Gaish: “We had lots of fun!”

Jazmin Moore: “My two enjoyed it! Thank you for the opportunity”

Sam Wright: “What a great activity! My little girl loved it!”

Sarah Beeson: “They loved doing it!”

We always receive great feedback about our crafting events at the Square. They provide the ideal opportunity for families to spend quality time together and for children to demonstrate their creative talents.Lisa Dawson, Pescod Square’s Centre Manager

Pescod Square: Proud to serve Boston for 15 Years

Developed in 2004, Pescod Square houses over 19 retailers. Over the past 15 years, the shopping centre has been a thriving part of the community and has, over the years, won many awards – including a BCSC Gold Award, Civic Trust Award and continues to achieve high accolades at Lincolnshire in Bloom.

Pescod Square celebrated its fifteenth birthday in October, coinciding with Halloween. To commemorate the occasion, the shopping centre hosted a free-to-attend birthday party on Sunday 27th October, in association with our friends from Endeavour FM. The event included live entertainment, music, dancing, games, competitions and the opportunity to win over £200 worth of prizes via the ‘Fang-tastic Wheel of Fortune’!

What’s more, as part of the continuing festivities, Pescod Square is giving away limited edition commemorative bags when visitors spend £15 or more in the centre’s stores. These can be collected from Waterstones, HMV and Hays Travel in the shopping centre.

Social Media Success

As well as in increase in footfall on both event days, Pescod Square also saw a surge of activity on its social media sites. The promotion of the half term fun reached over 35,000 people organically, with an engagement rate of 5%.

Lisa Dawson says: “Pescod Square has been providing a safe, friendly and varied shopping environment for the people of Boston for fifteen years and we were delighted to celebrate this milestone with them. The spooktacular activities hosted over the half term week were our way of ‘giving back’ to all the loyal customers that have frequented the shopping centre over the years. It certainly proved to be a horror-tastic half term week in Boston!”
