Halloween is now one of the biggest festivals of the UK calendar, with market research firm Mintel reporting that Britons spent approximately £419 million on Halloween this year, that’s a 5% rise since 2017.
Costumes based on the Mexican Day of the Dead, zombies, and Harley Quinn were the most popular dress up options this year, with many spooky spectacles seen on the streets of Boston.
And with plenty of ghoulish goodies adorning Pescod Square Shopping Centre’s shelves, there was no shortage of ways to put the frighteners on friends and family!
To ensure everyone had one hell of a Halloween, Pescod Square Shopping Centre invited people to enjoy some spirited skullduggery, freaky frolics and ghostly goings on at the shopping centre on Saturday 27th October.
There was a FREE Monstrous Makeover Craft Workshop in the Square, hosted by Crafty Crew, where children could devilishly decorate their own magnificent mask to take home and keep, just in time for fright night.
All materials were provided and guidance was on hand from trained supervisors.
What’s more, in association with the event, participants were entered into a competition for the chance to win a Halloween Hamper worth £50 After much petrifying pondering and devilish deliberating, a winner was selected – Nastia!
Nastia created a spine-tingling spider mask at the workshop. She came to the shopping centre on Wednesday 31st October and was presented with her prize by Jenny Elwick from Pescod Square’s management team.
Andy Pottle, Pescod Square’s Centre Manager, says: “We were delighted to host an exciting event this spooky season and to give our customers the chance to have a day filled with tricks and treats! The day was a resounding success and saw hundreds of families taking part. We look forward to hosting more events and spectacular shows at Pescod Square over the forthcoming months and will be offering shoppers further chances to win prizes.”
