Head to Waterstones in Pescod Square for their series of Summer Holiday Activities for children.
The activities are free and everyone is invited! All sessions takes place from 11 to 11.30am.
Wednesday 7th August: Grumpycorn Story Time & Make Your Own Corn Horn
Children can enjoy reading Grumpycorn and then make their own corn horn. Grumpycorn is an entertaining picture book about friendship, collaboration and determination and is a delight to share with young children. Enjoying this vibrant read, followed by a fun crafting activity, should ensure there are no grumpy children leaving Waterstones!
Saturday 17th August: Baby Shark Story Time & Singing
Children can enjoy some Baby Shark Story Time and then a burst of singing! Baby Shark has become well-known and well-loved by children and parents everywhere. With hilarious and adorable under-the-sea art of Baby Shark, Mama Shark, Daddy Shark, Grandma Shark and more ocean creatures, kids won’t be able to get enough of this silly illustrated story of a shark family. There will then be some silly sing-along fun.
Wednesday 21st August: Look Up! Story Time & Activities
Children can enjoy reading Look Up! and then take part in some fun crafting activities. Look Up! by Nathan Bryon and Dapo Adeola features science-crazed chatterbox Rocket, who is determined to get her whole town out watching a meteor shower – to the annoyance of her big brother, who would rather stay glued to his phone. Energetic and with a wry, sweet take on family dynamics, it will alert readers to the mysteries of the night skies. This will be followed by some crafting activities.
Tuesday 27th August: The Tiger Who Came To Tea Story Time & Activities
Children can enjoy reading The Tiger Who Came To Tea and then take part in some fun crafting activities. The Tiger Who Came to Tea is a short children’s story, first published by HarperCollins in 1968, written and illustrated by Judith Kerr. The book concerns a girl called Sophie, her mother, and an anthropomorphised tiger who interrupts their afternoon tea.
